Scam alert
Sorry everyone, but as you might already suspect:
I haven’t sent you an email telling you how much I love your work.
I haven’t DMed you various social platforms encouraging you to follow me because I love your work.
I have not offered to help you market your book because I love it so much, nor will I be putting in the hands of an agent, editor, or publisher who I am certain will love it even more.
I will not be happy to read your manuscript and offer pointers to make it even better.
Also, I will not be excited to enlist your savvy assistance to get my overlooked book out to a wider audience.
I will not be excited to enlist the same savvy assistance to take my memoir, which I have not written, “to the next level.”
For all the real people out there, I promise I will never ask you to follow me, text me, call me, visit me, sing to me, or send me stuff.
Also to all the real people out there, I am not on Bluesky, X, Discord, Tiktok, or Facebook. If anyone contacts you on those platforms, it is not me.
Real people: you can find me on Instagram (@bonnie_garmus_author) and Threads (@bonnie_garmus_author). Or here. That’s it! If you get something from me on Instagram or Threads and the handle does not match what I have listed above, IT IS NOT ME!
Should you receive a fake email, text, or social media post from “me,” but not really from “me,” please report it. To do that, click on the menus or dots to find each platform’s phishing, reporting, and blocking features. They all have them. Stay safe out there!
